MIDS: The digitisation standard for Natural Science collections

The digitisation standard, MIDS (Minimum Information about a Digital Specimen), has been developed to provide clear definition for the level of specimens held in natural science collections. standard comprises three levels digitisation: Level 1 (Basic) is equivalent virtual cabinet or drawer collection; 2 (Regular) provides information needed most research; 3 (Extended) all on specimen itself as well links associated resources.
